Sodium Gluconate

Sodium gluconate is the sodium salt of gluconic acid, known for its excellent chelating properties, non-toxicity, and biodegradability. It is widely used in construction, pharmaceuticals, food, water treatment, and industrial cleaning due to its ability to bind metal ions and regulate pH.

  • Industrial Applications
      • Concrete Admixture & Cement Retarder: Acts as a set retarder in concrete to improve workability and prevent premature hardening. Enhances strength development in hot-weather concrete applications.
      • Metal Cleaning & Surface Treatment: Chelates metal ions like calcium, iron, and magnesium, making it ideal for cleaning steel, glass, and machinery. Used in the electroplating and metal finishing industries.
      • Water Treatment & Descaling Agent: Removes mineral deposits and prevents scaling in boilers, cooling towers, and desalination plants. Used in reverse osmosis (RO) membranes for water purification.
      • Corrosion Inhibitor: Used in oil & gas industries to prevent rust formation in pipelines and machinery.
  • Pharmaceutical Applications
      • Electrolyte Balancer: Used in IV solutions and oral rehydration salts (ORS) to correct sodium and electrolyte imbalances.
      • Chelating Agent in Drug Formulations: Improves drug stability and solubility by binding unwanted metal ions.
